Uttar Pradesh here we come! Our volunteer trip to India is finalized. We currently construct five classrooms and provide school furniture for a very basic school in Uttar Pradesh. From the 17th till the 21st of November 12 volunteers will join us on our trip to India to meet the students & teachers, learn about local challenges in the education sector, paint the classrooms and plant trees. TED is a global set of conferences. The concept that drives TED is that of 'ideas worth sharing' but it goes deeper than that. It is ideas that are shared and implemented and are changing our world. The $400,000 commitment to the Clinton Global Initiative to fund the construction of 200 affordable homes in Haiti that will provide transitional housing to thousands of displaced Haitians was announced today. The project is built together with three organizations 'Monyati Initiatives', 'Delos Living' and 'Un Techo Para Mi Pais'. In 2005, President Clinton established CGI to turn ideas into action and to help our world move beyond the current state of globalization to a more integrated global community of shared benefits, responsibilities, and values. CGI annual meetings have brought together more than 125 current and former heads of state, 15 Nobel Peace Prize winners, hundreds of leading global CEOs, major philanthropists and foundation heads, directors of the most effective non-governmental organizations, and prominent members of the media. These CGI members have made nearly 1,700 commitments valued at $57 billion, which have already improved more than 220 million lives in 170 countries.

Monja Wolf has spent a few months in Dhaka Bangladesh to work with Nobel Peace Prize laureate professor Muhammad Yunus at the Grameen organization. Professor Yunus' current main focus is the improvement of Bangladeshs healthcare situation. Monjas commitment was the business plan development and securing of funds for Professor Yunus' efforts to establish social business nursing colleges in all states of Bangladesh. As the new Yunus Fellow for the Middle East Monja Wolf is linking universities, government entities and the private sector in the GCC region with Muhammad Yunus to establish social business funds and partnerships with the Grameen foundation.
